Concrete Foundations in Cuyahoga County, OH
A foundation is only as reliable as the concrete and the crew behind it. Imperial Waterproofing Inc. pours and repairs concrete foundations for homes, additions and garages across Cuyahoga County, built to withstand the freeze and thaw cycles that define Northeast Ohio. Ray supervises every pour, and has since 1981.
What It Is
Concrete foundation work covers poured foundation walls, footings and slabs for new homes, additions, garages and structural rebuilds. It also includes replacing sections of foundation that have cracked, shifted or deteriorated past safe repair.
Because we are a waterproofing contractor first, every foundation we pour is built with water management in mind. Proper footing drainage, correct wall sealing and a solid base are part of the work, not an afterthought. That is what keeps a foundation dry and stable for the long term.

How We Do It
Our process keeps your project clean and clear. Owner supervised by Ray on every job.
Ray reviews the site, the load requirements and the soil conditions to plan the footing depth and wall design.
We excavate and set the footing to a solid base, sized for the structure and the local clay soil.
Forms are set and reinforced for a poured concrete foundation wall built to carry the load.
Concrete is poured, finished and cured properly to withstand freeze and thaw cycling.
Footing drainage and exterior sealing are included so the new foundation stays dry. Owner supervised by Ray and built by our crew of 5.
Why Foundations Crack Here
Cuyahoga County clay soil expands when wet and heaves when frozen, placing constant lateral pressure on foundation walls. A foundation poured without proper footing drainage and reinforcement will crack under that pressure within a few seasons.
Northeast Ohio freeze and thaw cycles are relentless. Poured concrete must be mixed, placed and cured correctly to survive dozens of cycles a year without spalling or cracking. Our 45 years of local experience means we build for those conditions from the start.

Common Questions
Q.Do you pour foundations for additions and garages, not just new homes?
Yes. We pour concrete foundations and footings for homes, additions, garages and structural rebuilds. Each foundation is sized for the structure above it and the clay soil below it, with Ray planning the work on site.
Q.Can you replace a cracked or failing section of my foundation?
Yes. We assess the damaged section and rebuild it so it carries the load properly. Because we are a waterproofing contractor, we also address the water and soil pressure that caused the failure so the new section does not crack again.
Q.How do you build a foundation for Cuyahoga County clay soil?
Clay soil holds water and expands when it freezes, so we size the footing for the load and the soil, include proper drainage at the footing, and reinforce the wall for lateral pressure. This keeps the foundation stable through freeze and thaw cycles.
Q.Do you include drainage with a new foundation?
Yes. Because we are a waterproofing contractor first, footing drainage and exterior wall sealing are part of the foundation work, not a separate afterthought. A foundation that cannot manage water will fail, so we build it in from the start.
Q.How quickly can you respond to a failing foundation?
We are open 24/7 and Ray answers the phone directly. If you have a cracked, bowing or shifting foundation, call right away and we will respond as quickly as possible to assess and stabilize the situation.
